Car base camp Campbells Rest Bundanoon asc. 100-300m 9-13km tracks and some off
trail. Day walks from camp to Bundanoon Creek & Gorge, lookouts,
waterfalls, glow worms and abandoned coal mines.

Med/hard day walk 400m asc 13km all
on track, one ladder, many steps. Wentworth Falls (station), Conservation Hut,
Roberts Pass, Lindeman Pass, Katoomba. Walk behind a waterfall, cross
rainforest gullies and enjoy magnificent views from this little used Pass at
the very base of the cliffline. Longish walk

12km fire trail and track. Walk Smugglers Ridge down to Marramarra Creek and
back up the ridge to the cars Aboriginal engraving. Nice views of Marramarra

Easy day walk 100m asc 8km all on
good track. Glenbrook Station to Euroka Clearing and back, easy walk suitable
for family and children. Walk to Ranger Street then down to Causeway and on to
Euroka Clearing for lunch with kangaroos.

Day walk 16km 400m asc tracks minor
trackless river crossings. Walk down Starlights Trail near Hilltop to the
wonderful and scenic Nattai Valley and then explore upstream along the Nattai
River.

Med day walk 200m asc 15km off track
bush and rock scrambling, tracks and street walking. Riverwood Station,
foreshores of Georges River, Picnic Point, Panania Station. Discover a small
but delightful National Park, unburnt since 1986, with tall stands of
Angophoras and Eucalypts, all with water views.

Day walk 16km 200m asc 3km off
track. Walk from Heathcote to Engadine Falls then down Engadine Creek to
Horseshoe Falls and Head of Navigation. After lunch climb Robertsons Knoll and
walk via the Uloola Track to Uloola Falls, Karloo Pool and return to Heathcote.<

Car base camp 100-300m asc 6-8km
tracks and some rock scrambling. Day walks from camp to Bungonia Creek and
Gorge, lookouts, Shoalhaven River and Gorge and abandoned copper mine. Fees

rock hopping. Mona Vale Headland, Swamp Mahogany walk Kundibah Reserve,
Bilarong Res, Narrabeen. Lake, Creeks, 4 waterfalls, views.
11 May Sat Middle Harbour
Easy day walk 10km. Killara Station
for easy walk to Roseville via Swaines Gardens. Suit beginners.
11 May Sat Morton NP
Med day walk 400m asc 16km
firetrails. Walk from top of Meryla Pass near Moss Vale down historic Meryla
Pass to Griffins Farm and return.
11 May Sat Blue Mountains NP
Med day walk 400m asc 11km mainly
off track, rough creek walking. The Bell Road, Kamarah Gully, Grose Valley
Colliery, Grose River, Engineers track, The Causeway. This walk has everything,
including a little Lawyer Vine. Kamarah Gully is very nice and the exit via the
Engineers Track completes a great day.

Day walk 200m asc 14km on track.
Berowra Cowan, part of Great North Walk, Aboriginal Rock engravings.
11 May Sat Wollemi NP
Easy day walk 200m asc 12km, mostly
track some minor rock scrambling. Clarence Zig Zag Station to Glow worm tunnel
to Tunnel canyon then along abandoned railway track and return via Wolgan
Valley, Pagoda track then to Nobles Canyon (dry). Stunning rock formations,
pagodas, superb views and glow worms. Please bring torch and book early as this
is always a popular walk.
12 May Sun Blue Mountains NP
Med day walk 400m asc 20km firetrail
and track with some steep sections. Winmalee, Shaws Ridge, Grose Mountain
Lookout and beyond; return via Blue Gum Swamp Creek. Views of lower Grose
Valley and Sydney skyline, some short climbs and pleasant walking along creek,
optional is exploratory path to Grose River.
12 May Sun Homebush Bay/Bicentennial Park
Easy day walk 10km mostly level, on
path. Explore the mangrove area and swamps of Bicentennial Park, the brick pit
and Millenium parklands. Starting and finishing at Concord West Station.

Canyon 300m asc 6km Canyons. Juggler
and Grand Canyons, Two short canyons near Blackheath, one dry with 5 abseils
and one wetter with one. A magical experience of Blue Mountains rainforest.

Med day walk 400m asc 10km steep
track, rock hopping. Steep desc from Badgerys lookout to the magnificent
Shoalhaven Gorge and then rock hopping and wet feet down the river and return
11-12 May Sat/Sun Nattai NP
Two day walk D1: 10km level on
firetrail and track; D2: 400m asc 10km on firetrail and track. To middle
section of Nattai River to base of Russells Needle. Start at Hilltop
magnificent views of Nattai Gorge, via McArthurs Flat, good campsite.
11-12 May Sat/Sun Wollemi NP
Overnight, full pack weekend walk
400m asc 12km 70% off track, rock scrambling, creek walking, rock hopping and
great scenery. Newnes to Mt.Dawson via Little Capertee Creek and adjoining
escarpments. Return same way with slight variations to take advantage of the
spectacular views over Wollemi & Gardens of Stone NPs. Cave camp
overlooking Pantoneys Crown. Watch a spectacular sunset on Mt.Dawson with happy
hour, snacks, drinks.

taxi to Blackheath. Green canyons, enormous sandy river cave, water tunnel,

Day walk 50m asc 12km tracks, some
rough and slippery. Darling Mills Creek, Cumberland Forest, Mt. Wilberforce and
Berowra Valley.
16 May Thur Members Night
A pleasant social evening and a
talk. Starts 7.30pm at the McMahon s Point Community Centre, 165 Blues Point
Road, North Sydney. A 5 min walk from North Sydney Station
18 May Sat Marramarra NP
Early Birds easy/med walk 100m asc
14km fire trail and track. Galston. Drive to Marramarra NP. Walk Coba Ridge to
Coba Point and then back to the cars to the start. Panoramic views of Coba Bay
and Berowra Creek.
18 May Sat Wentworth Falls
Central to Wentworth Falls, taxi to
Queen Victoria Hospital. Waterboard Road, Giant Stairs, Katoomba. Very scenic
walk approx 1000m climb taken at a gentle pace.
18 May Sat Blue Mountains NP
Med day walk 600m asc 21km on fire
trail and track. Carlons Farm, Medlow Gap, Taros Ladder, Clear Hill. Good day
out, will need to climb spikes and rungs of Taros Ladder for best views of the
day.
18 May Sat Ku-ring-gai Chase NP
Day walk 350m asc 14km rough scrubby
track. Cowan, Taffy s Rock part of Great North Walk. Aboriginal rock
engravings, magnificent views of the Hawkesbury River and surrounds.
18 May Sat Port Kembla Harbour- Mullet Creek
Short paddles, flat open water 12km.
Paddle around Port Kembla Harbour and se this industrial harbour from the water
and in the afternoon paddle Mullet Creek, the main tributary of Lake Illawarra.
Depends on shipping movements. PFDs compulsory
18 May Sat Blue Mountains NP
Day walk 250m asc 12km tracks.
Lawsons Long Alley, Hartley Vale, Lockyer s track. Walk through history along a
convict built track and enjoy the many views along the way.
19 May Sun Royal NP
Day walk 150m mostly down hill 5km,
suitable for children accompanied by adults, fire trail and tracks. One of the
classic walks in the Royal. It starts at Garie Trig 234m and drops down to Bola
Creek (80m) through a good cross section of the vegetation zones. Coastal heath
on the wind swept plateau next to the road, drops into scattered woodland then
dry and wet sclerophyll forest. At the end of the trip we will walk in a
temperate rainforest along Bola Creek

Otford, Garrawarra, Curra Moors, Garie, North Era, Burning Palms, Otford
18-19 May Sat/Sun Myall Lakes NP
Canoeing 60km. Neranie to Hawkes
Nest. Take the opportunity to paddle the full length of Myall Lakes north to
south. The trip is suitable for touring/sea kayaks only. Kayak hire is
available if required. Paddling experience is not necessary as fit overnight
walkers will cope.

2nd House Party YHA
Hostel. This week end activity was the second option for many of the members
who responded to a survey last August.

3 day trip to Ruby & Burnt Hole
Creeks. Med. Exploratory. Magnificent scenery, great walking. Hope to stop in
some fabulous campsites as we journey up these 2 streams. All off track
walking.

Mittagong
to Katoomba
A classic walk! Nine days, 160km,
4000m vertical. Lots of fun and a great sense of achievement. Come for the entire
walk or join us in Yerranderie for our rest days
20 May 30 Jun Queensland, Northern Territory
Easy flat water paddling walks
touring. Car tour with kayaks to western Queensland, Northern Territory and
northern South Australia. Cars need reasonable clearance as roads are
corrugated and many have a high crown. Travel through W.Qld via Mitchell,
Diamantina Lakes NP, Lawn Hill NP to NT and Katherine River, Mattaranka, Alice
Springs, Boulia, Birdsville, Cooper Creek, Coongie Lake and return home via W.Qld
or W.NSW. Emphasis on paddling. Come for all or part.

and sand. Kurnell to Cronulla.

tracks, some steep sections. Galston Gorge to Berowra via Crosslands. Car
shuffle. Early start. Beautiful bush and views of Berowra Creek. (scheduled 5
Jan but cancelled due to fire situation)

Med day walk 500m asc 12km tracks,
off-track, fire trail. Mt.Victoria, Pulpit Rock (another one), Bushrangers
Cave, Coxs Cave, Fairy Bower, Mt.Piddington, Hornes Point, Mt.Victoria. An
undercliff, overcliff walk with side tracks. Spectacular cliff top walk to
return to cars.
25 May Sat Ku-ring-gai Chase NP Part 1
Med day walk steep sections 12-14km.

tracks, lots of steps up and down. Martin s Lookout to Bunyan Lookout via the
Link Track. Steep desc and asc. This is the walk that was proposed for January
but cancelled due to track closure.

scrub, some parts exploratory. Good camping on Colo River. Steep but good track
out, river may still be warm enough for a dip.
25-26 May Sat/Sun Wollemi NP
Full pack walk. Glen Davis, Mt.
Canobla, Pt.Anderson. Excellent camp site, challenging rock/ledge scrambling,
fantastic views. Short walk-in, walk-out.
28 May Tue GNW Darling Mills Valley
Med day walk 12-14km. Thornleigh
walk to Baulkham Hills, bus to Parramatta
29 May Wed Berowra Valley RP
Med day walk 430m asc 14km all good
track, some steep. Cowan station, Berowra Waters, Berowra. Walk through
beautiful bush, past windblown caves and across small creeks before lunch high
above Berowra Creek, Ideal winter walk.
1 June Sat Berowra Valley Regional Park
Early Birds easy/med walk 200m asc
12km fire trail and track. Mt. Kuring-gai Station. Shuttle cars to McKay Road
Water Tower, Hornsby Heights. Walk firetrail then Great North Walk to
Crosslands then up Lyre Bird Gully to Mt. Kuring-gai Station to finish.

Easy/med day walk 300m asc 11km fire
trail, track, off track. Victoria Falls Road, Valhalla Head, Ikara Head, Ikara
Ridge, Choko Valley, Victoria Falls Road. See great views of the upper Grose
and enjoy a nice little valley for lunch.

Day walk 100m asc 14km tracks. Walk
Forest Island loop, Lady Carrington Walk, Palona Falls, Limestone overhang,
return.
2 June Sun Heathcote NP
Bushwalk 120asc 8km good tracks and
service roads easy/med walk. Heathcote Station, Highway, Heathcote Creek, Miara
Pool, Service Road to Scout Camp, Heathcote station. Visit Myles Dunphy s
"bora ground" and learn the history of Heathcote NP. Myles started
the bushwalking movement and was the pioneer of the National Parks systems.
Bring a mug for a cup of bushman s tea and a couple of sausages to grill for
lunch.
2 June Sun Blue Mountains NP
Med day walk 600m 16km mostly on
tracks with some eroded and rough sections with a lot of climbing. Vera Falls,
Slack Stairs, Darwin walk, Wentworth Falls. Walk follows a variety of old
tracks, each with different features and aspects of the fascinating escarpment.
Enjoy the valley views from Moya and Inspiration Point, see Vera Falls and
Wentworth Falls from Rocket Point.
2 June Sun Blue Mountains NP
Med day walk 100m asc 12km partially
off track, scramble up Pisgah Rock. The Oaks, Monkey Ropes Creek, Dadder Cave,
Pisgah Rock, The Oaks. An interesting walk down a pretty creek. Creek crossings
and wet feet.
1-2 June Sat/Sun Morton NP
Overnight, several small climbs about 100m ea. Total 500m up & down
26km. Castle Hill, Square Top Mountain, Fosters Mt. Michael Dowling Mt. A walk
amongst the exquisite rock formations of the Budawangs. Sleep in camp cave at
Fosters Mt.
1-2 June Sat/Sun Wollemi NP
Pack walk 350m asc 12km moderate
with 1km rough going. Little Capertee Creek to Red Rocks. Great views over
Capertee Valley. Bring tent Friday night (car camping), camping cave Sat.
night. Water bottle essential.
4 June Tue Cycleway Tempe San Souci Part 2
Easy med day walk 12-14km. Tempe
station, walk to San Souci via Muddy Creek Botany Bay, bus to Rockdale, can
shorten
4-5 June Tue/Wed Wollemi NP
Full pack walk 600m asc 20km off
track steep asc/desc through cliffs. Gardens of Stone Baal Bone Point to
Pantoneys Crown, classic walk to this isolated plateau in the Capertee Valley.
Breathtaking views.

Day walk 50m asc 12km tracks, beach
and rocks. Governor Game Lookout, Thelma Ridge, Garie, Eagle Rock, Wattamolla.

Palona Brook, Walumarra Track to cars. See limestone cave, heath and forest.

Day walk 340m asc 11km on track and
off. Cowan, Brooklyn via Porto Ridge, part of Great North Walk.
9 June Sun Kurnell
Day walk 20m asc 12km sandy track.
Cape Solander to Cape Bailey Lighthouse, return. Visit the Discovery Centre,
Capt. Cook s landing place then walk to a lighthouse for lunch with great ocean
views and a chance to see whales. Older children welcome.
8-10 June Sat/Mon Kanangra Boyd NP
Hard long weekend full pack walk Day
1: 500m asc Day 2: 820m desc Day 3: 1000m asc 43km. Kanangra Walls 100 Men Cave
Ti Willa Creek, Gingra Range, lots of up and down but great scenery. Will
traverse Ti Willa Creek from 100 men cave, Kowmung. Handlining in places, experienced
walkers only.
8-10 June Coolah Tops NP
3 day walks from a base camp,
walking mostly on tracks. Shepards Peak, Cooba Bulga Track, the pinnacle/lave
caves, Pigeon Box Rock and more. From our comfortable and private base camp at
Brackens Hut we will explore the great diversity of habitats that this
wonderful Park has to offer. Snowgum woodlands, volcanic formations and
plummeting waterfalls are a few of the highlights of this interesting area.
8-10 June Sat/Mon Kanangra-Boyd NP
Canyoning 2,700m asc 19km tough
terrain. Davies Canyon, hard with over night camp. Experienced canyoners only.
No swims needed. Spectacular country.

Full pack walk. Culoul Range,
Wollemi Creek, Colo River. A circular trip through spectacular gorge country
visited by few people. River walking, possible deep dark pools to wade through,
quick sand sucking you down or fun.

Easy/med day walk 12km. East Hills
line to Ingleburn circular walk, bus back

Day walk 100m asc 14km tracks, rough
and slippery. Wentworth Falls Leura.

Early Birds easy/med 200m asc 12km
fire trail and track. St.Ives Chase. Walk Warrimoo track via Cowan Creek to
Bobbin Head then fire trail to the Sphinx and back up the Warrimoo track to the
start to finish Aboriginal engravings.
15 June Sat Royal NP
Med/hard day walk 600m asc 24km 3
steep climbs, some off-track walking and scrambling. Helensburgh, Burg Track,
Garrawarra, Era, Thelma Ridge, Garrawarra, Helensburgh. Mostly untouched by the
fires. Flowers should be in abundance. The distance and terrain will ensure a
good work out.

tracks. Katoomba, Landslide, Ruined Castle, Mt. Solitary

mostly track, some steep, some scrubby off-track. Cowan Station, Jerusalem Bay,
Porto Ridge, Brooklyn. Visit the crystal clear waters of Jerusalem Bay before a
steepish climb and a short off-track section to a remote lookout for lunch
before descending off-track to Brooklyn

Stairs, Cliff Drive. Follow the old aerial ropeway across the Jamison Valley.
Steep and slippery in places, lawyer vine.
22 June Sat Eastern Suburbs Ramble II
Easy 12km urban. Double Bay, Rose

South Head, ferry to Circular Quay or buses to stations (option to leave at

22 June Sat Brisbane Water NP
Easy/med day walk 300m asc 10km on
tracks and fire trails, several steep sections. Wondabyne to Girrakool. Part of
the GNW. Train to Wondabyne, bus or taxi Girrakool to Gosford, train back to
Sydney. Relaxed pace to enjoy the bush
23 June Sun Blue Mountains NP
Easy, short walks, total 5km all
fire trails and tourist tracks. Suit children. The Kurrajong Glow worm walk.
Drive to Burralow Creek camping area by 4WD. Short afternoon walk. Evening BBQ.
Longer night walk to see the glow worms. Camping overnight optional extra.
Bring a working torch.

Bushwalk 220m asc 6km good tracks
easy/med walk. Waterfall Station, car ride to Garrawarra Farm, Era Beach, North
Era, return to Garrawarra, thence Waterfall or Sutherland. Visit our most
beautiful National Park Beach.
23 June Sun Yengo NP
One day walk 400m asc 9km 7km on
fire track, 2km off track. From Howes Valley creek via Howes trail, up Mt.
Wareng (Little Yengo) and return. Views of Yengo NP from top of Mt. Wareng.
22-23 June Sat/Sun Wollemi NP
Full pack walk 400m asc 12km. Bell
to Wollangambe River, primarily off track, some scrub, pagoda navigation, some
steep sections. An enjoyable winter walk into the upper Wollangambe River. No
need to carry tent as we will be camping in a large sandy floored overhang.
21-24 June Fri/Mon Wee Jasper
Caving, bushwalking. Car camping
with optional caving, some easy, some abseiling; bushwalking part of Hume &

beach. The classic Otford to Bundeena walk at a good moderate pace via Palm

Scenic Railway, Mt. Solitary return. Up and down by rail with trek to top of

available.

Creek, Glenbrook. Pretty pass and creek, interesting caves.

takes you into the heart of the Western MacDonnell Ranges. Breathtakingly
beautiful with a landscape dotted with spectacular deep gorges and ochre
mountains, the trail takes you through some of the most stunning wilderness in
this ancient continent. On this trip we will be completing Sections 8-12
inclusive as well as a couple of optional sidetrips.

unique wetland near the confluence of Macquarie Marshes & Darling river. We
will be based at a sheep station and the trip will be suitable for people
wanting to paddle, birdwatch photographers etc.
